Dual Diagnosis Treatment in Omaha, NE

When mental health and substance use intersect, teens need care that addresses both together, not separately.

Comprehensive Dual Diagnosis Care for Teens

When mental health challenges and substance use overlap, it can be hard to know where to start. Our teen dual diagnosis programs address both at the same time, providing clear, coordinated support that helps teens build stability while giving families confidence in what comes next.

Dual Diagnosis Concerns We Treat

Dual diagnosis can affect a teen’s mood, behavior, safety, relationships, and daily functioning. We support teens facing challenges such as:

  • Substance use connected to anxiety, depression, trauma, or emotional pain
  • Alcohol, marijuana, vaping, or other drug use alongside mental health symptoms
  • Cravings or urges that increase during stress, conflict, or overwhelm
  • Mood swings, irritability, shutdown, or emotional outbursts tied to substance use
  • Using substances to numb, escape, fit in, or feel more in control
  • Self-harm or suicidal thoughts alongside substance use concerns
  • School problems, family conflict, secrecy, or risky choices
  • Difficulty stopping use because mental health symptoms remain untreated

Our Dual Diagnosis Treatment Programs

We offer multiple levels of care so teens can receive the support and structure that fit their needs, daily routine, and clinical recommendation while continuing to live at home.

How We Help Teens Move Forward

Better Understanding of the Cycle

Teens begin to see how mental health symptoms and substance use can affect each other, which helps them make sense of patterns that once felt confusing or out of their control.

Healthier Ways to Cope

Care helps teens build safer tools for handling anxiety, sadness, anger, stress, cravings, and emotional overwhelm without relying on substances.

More Stability in Daily Life

As teens get support for both concerns at the same time, school, relationships, routines, and family life can start to feel more manageable.

Stronger Support at Home

Family involvement helps caregivers better understand what their teen is facing, improve communication, and support progress outside of treatment.

Care That Treats Every Side of the Problem

Dual diagnosis care works best when it looks at the full connection between substance use and mental health. A teen may use substances to cope with symptoms, then feel more anxious, depressed, ashamed, or unstable afterward. Without support for both sides, progress can be harder to maintain.

At Imagine, teens receive care that connects emotional health, substance use, family dynamics, school stress, safety, and daily choices. The goal is to build coping skills that work in real life, not only during treatment.
