What Therapy Looks Like at Imagine by Northpoint
Therapy is a core part of how teens build emotional stability, coping skills, and confidence. Sessions are structured, supportive, and tailored to each teen’s needs — helping them understand what they’re feeling and how to handle challenges more effectively.

Support Identity and Self-Confidence

Concerns We Address in Therapy
Teens come to us with challenges that can show up emotionally, behaviorally, and socially. We support a wide range of concerns, including:
Find the Right Level of Care for Your Teen

Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP)
Day treatment Monday–Friday, 6+ hours a day for teens who need a higher level of support. This 4-6 week program includes school coordination and medication support as needed.
Virtual Mental Health Programs
Hybrid care for teens who need the flexibility of online sessions. Offers structured treatment and clinician-led support from home as needed.

FAQs About Therapies Used in Teen Treatment
How do you decide which therapies are right for my teen?
Therapies are recommended based on a comprehensive assessment that looks at symptoms, stressors, strengths, and daily functioning. From there, the care team builds a plan using therapies that work well together and can adjust as your teen’s needs change.
Do teens receive more than one type of therapy at the same time?
Yes. Most teens participate in a combination of therapies, such as individual, group, and family therapy. This allows skills to be reinforced in different settings and supports progress both in treatment and at home.
What if my teen is resistant or doesn’t open up in therapy?
This is very common, especially at the start. Therapists focus on building trust, setting clear expectations, and allowing teens to engage at their own pace, rather than forcing conversations before they’re ready.
Do you offer therapy for LGBTQIA+ teens?
Yes. Therapy is affirming and inclusive of all gender identities and sexualities. Care is personalized and fully integrated into the program, so teens receive respectful, supportive treatment without being separated into a different track. Read our story to learn more about our values and approach.
How involved are parents or caregivers in therapy?
Parents and caregivers are involved through family therapy and regular communication, while still respecting your teen’s privacy. The goal is to support healthier communication and provide guidance that helps progress continue at home.
Is medication required to participate in therapy?
No. Medication is not required to participate in therapy. When medication is part of care, it’s used thoughtfully, monitored closely, and always combined with therapeutic support.
